One of our favorite things is preparation couples for their childbirth experience.  From developing your birth team and birth plan to learning what to expect in labor and birth and during the postpartum period, our classes provide practical information for couples to prepare for this amazing and life-changing events. 

Childbirth and the anticipation of childbirth can lead to mixed feelings: feelings of excitement and anxiety.  Through our childbirth preparation classes, expectant couples will be educated in a variety of labor and birth philosophies in order to encourage and empower them for their labor and birth journey ahead.

Learning about childbirth in a community of expectant couples and in a “safe” setting can help relieve concerns and build confidence going into your birthing experience.  Research verifies taking a childbirth preparation class can greatly increase the overall satisfaction of the birth experience for both Moms and Dads.

Additionally, it has been found that taking childbirth classes facilitates:

  • increased communication of overall health decisions

  • better communication with partner

  • better relaxation and stress management skills

  • healthier lifestyle behaviors

  • increased birth satisfaction, even when the birth didn’t go as hoped

  • feeling more prepared for a second or subsequent delivery when the previous birth was upsetting

Marcie Hadley, CD(DONA), PCD(DONA), CLC, and LCCE(LAMAZE), has been serving families since 2010. She especially enjoys getting to know her families, meeting their unique needs, and sharing evidence-based care information. Marcie has worked with unmedicated, medicated, C-section, family friendly C-Section, and VBAC labors, Her postpartum experience includes working with families of first children to families of 10. She has worked with mothers who have experienced postpartum depression and illness following birth. Her goal is to empower mothers in their own mothering wisdom.
