Childbirth Classes based on Lamaze’s Six Healthy Birth Practices! You will learn: What to expect in labor, Evidence-Based practices, How to Advocate for yourself, Comfort Measures, basic Spinning Babies techniques, labor simulation, and more.

Each week, you will gain confidence and feel more empowered about your upcoming labor, birth, and postpartum season.

Group childbirth classes are offered online or in person.  $300

When: Sunday Afternoon 2-4:30
Where:  Via Zoom
How long: 6 sessions (12-15 hours)

Private classes are also offered.     $600  (contact me about scheduling)

Introduction:

You will learn a brief history of childbirth and how it has changed, and about exercise and nutrition for your optimal pregnancy.

Rights of Childbearing Women:

As an expectant mother, you have rights and choices. In class, you will learn about evidence-based practices and what informed consent means and looks like.  Role play reinforces what you are learning.  You will also develop a birth plan using your new knowledge, and learn the benefits of labor support. 

You will learn about the risk vs benefits of common labor interventions and how to use your

The Labor Process

Labor doesn’t usually follow a textbook, but it does follow a progression.  You will learn about the stages and phases of labor and what each might look like, comfort measures for each stage and phase, positions, the benefit of movement, variations of normal, and about challenges.

Introduction to:

The last class introduces you to postpartum life, newborn and mother care, beginning breastfeeding/feeding, and how to make the most of all the newborn snuggles.
